Helmet Safety Initiative

Helmets Required

Get caught by the police...

and receive a

Free Kids Ice Cream Cone
or
Pizza and Soda

From now through
October 1, 2008
if a police officer “catches” you with your bicycle helmet on, you will receive a coupon for a FREE kids ice cream cone

from Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts (294 Route 46 East) or a FREE slice of pizza and a soda from Hollywood Pizza (376 Fairfield Road).

Always wear your helmet…
DON’T BE CAUGHT WITHOUT IT!!

The State of New Jersey requires that all persons under age 17 must wear a bicycle helmet while operating a bicycle and while skateboarding, roller blading or roller skating.

Failure to wear a helmet is a violation of NJSA 39:4-10.1 and NJSA 39:4-10.5B.

Parent or legal guardian may be fined up to $100.00.

The Fairfield Police Department will begin strict enforcement this law on June 21, 2008.
